VN confirms her sovereignty over Hoàng Sa and Trường Sa

VNGOP - Việt Nam possesses adequate historical evidence and legal foundations to proclaim her sovereignty over the Hoàng Sa (Paracels) and Trường Sa (Spratlys) Archipelagos.

Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Lê Dũng stated on September 12 while answering reporters’ questions on Việt Nam’s response to the news that Taiwan would resume some infrastructure building projects on Ba Đình Island in the Trường Sa Archipelago.

“All activities in the Hoàng Sa and Trường Sa Archipelagos, without Việt Nam’s approval, are violations of Việt Nam's sovereignty in these areas and are devoid of legal merit,” said the Spokesman.

Mr. Lê Dũng emphasized that Việt Nam protests Taiwan’s resumption of its plan and requests Taiwan to immediately stop that plan as well as similar activities in the Trường Sa Archipelago.
