The latest cases are residents of Hai Duong (31) and Ha Noi (two), according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Specifically, Hai Duong’s patients include 29 F1 individuals who have been quarantined before being tested positive for the virus while the rest are resident in lockdown area.

Meanwhile, Ha Noi’s patients are residents in Me Linh District.

Both of them are F1 individuals of patient numbered 2142 and have been quarantined since January 30.

They are being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District.

The same day, three patients were declared free of the virus, taking the total recoveries to 1,534, said the National Steering Committee.

The nation is placing 152,690 people under medical surveillance and quarantine nationwide. Of these, 638 are being kept at hospitals, 18,232 at concentrated quarantine sites, and 133,775 at places of residence.

Though COVID-19 clusters have been brought under control, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam called for sustaining vigilance against COVID-19.

Dam, who is Head of the National Steering Committee, ordered localities to continue strict borders control and regular inspection of concentrated quarantine sites, especially facilities designated for people entering Viet Nam via land.
