VN confirms 12 new imported cases of COVID-19
VGP – Viet Nam confirmed 12 new imported cases of COVID-19 on Monday, raising the patient tally to 1,192.
The latest patients are Vietnamese repatriated from Russia and the US, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control led by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam.
Specifically, patient 1,181 is a 38-year-old man from Vinh Tuong District of the Northern province of Vinh Phuc.
Patient 1,182 is a 51-year-old woman from Lap Thach District, Vinh Phuc Province.
Patient 1,183 is a 42-year-old woman from Yen Lac District, Vinh Phuc Province.
These patients, who took flight VN5062 from Russia to Van Don International Airport in Quang Ninh Province on October 31 and were quarantined in Hung Yen Province, are being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District.
Patient 1,184 is a 20-year-old student from District 11, Ho Chi Minh City.
Patient 1,185 is a 56-year-old woman from Phan Rang-Thap Cham city of the central province of Ninh Thuan.
The pair flew from the US to Cam Ranh airport in Khanh Hoa Province on October 29 after transiting in Japan.
They are being treated at the locality’s Hospital for Tropical Diseases.
Patients 1,186 to 1,192 were among passengers onboard the aforesaid flight VN5062 but they were quarantined in Hoa Binh Province.
Patient 1,186 is a 24-year-old woman from Tam Ky city of the central province of Quang Nam.
Patient 1,187 is a 20-year-old woman from Ninh Giang District of Hai Duong Province.
Patient 1,188 is a 31-year-old woman from Kien Thuy District of Hai Phong City.
Patient 1,189 is a two-year-old girl from Ha Noi’s Phuc Tho District.
Patient 1,190 is a 25-year-old man from Ha Noi’s Thanh Xuan District.
Patient 1,192 is a 37-year old man from Lang Giang District of Bac Giang Province.
Patient 1,192 is a 34-year-old man from Quang Ngai city of the central province of Quang Ngai.
All of the above patients are being treated at Hoa Binh General Hospital.
The same day, two more patients were declared free of COVID-19, bringing the total recoveries to 1,165.
Though COVID-19 has been brought under controll in Viet Nam, the pandemic is projected to cost Viet Nam nearly VND 200,000 billion (US$ 9.4 billion) in budget revenue, according to Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc./.
