VN commits to realizing ASEAN’s priorities

Congratulating Mr. Binh on his new position, Mr. Dato Lim Jock Hoi asserted that ASEAN has been actively building the ASEAN Community on three pillars of politics-security, economy and socio-culture, further enhancing its external relations and consolidating its centrality and solidarity.

He spoke highly of Viet Nam’s contribution to activities of the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN and its coordination with the ASEAN Secretariat, expecting to continue close cooperation with the ambassador and Viet Nam’s Permanent Representative Mission to ASEAN in the upcoming time.

Viet Nam attaches great importance to ASEAN in its foreign policy and pledges to play a part in further enhancing the role and position of ASEAN so as to contribute to the region’s peace, stability and cooperation as well improve the capacity of the ASEAN Secretariat, said Mr. Tran Duc Binh. 

The nation is willing to coordinate and support the ASEAN Secretariat in effectively launching its functions and responsibilities, making contributions to joint efforts and promoting the ASEAN Community among people and businesses in the region, he added.

The Vietnamese Permanent Mission to ASEAN was founded on February 26, 2009 to represent Viet Nam in ASEAN activities and those between ASEAN and partners as well as support the ASEAN Secretariat, which is based in Jakarta, Indonesia.
