VN celebrates 30th anniversary of UNESCO Resolution honoring President Ho Chi Minh
VGP – The Resolution 24C/18.65, adopted by UNESCO 30 years ago, carried immense significance as the recognition of the world and the United Nations for the noble values of the Vietnamese people and nation, of which President Ho Chi Minh is the most eminent and outstanding embodiment.

The Resolution was also a major source of encouragement and a symbol of the friendship that international friends accorded to President Ho Chi Minh and the Vietnamese people in general throughout the struggle for national independence and the joint effort for the most noble common values of the progressive mankind, Deputy PM, FM Minh said.
The Resolution stated that President Ho Chi Minh as a “hero of national liberation and great man of culture”, who “devoted his whole life to the national liberation of the Vietnamese people, contributing to the common struggle of peoples for peace, national independence, democracy and social progress.”

To the international friends, Uncle Ho is a symbol of the desire for peace and the fight against oppression and injustice. His heart and mind were ever in tune with the people all over the world.
With his wish “nothing is more precious than independence and freedom” and through his contributions in the philosophy of and practical experiences in the struggle for national independence, President Ho Chi Minh had contributed to the liberation of oppressed people and the triumph over old and new colonialism.
He played a role in the setting of the most pertinent foundation for the philosophy of equality among nations, and was a vivid embodiment of such equality.

He state that “We will do all we can in order to contribute to the promotion of the shared values of humankind and to the search for satisfy solutions to differences on the basis of respect for one another’s legitimate interests and of mutual benefits.”
Viet Nam will also join other members of the international community in promoting full and effective implementation of the United Nations Charter and the UNESCO Constitution, and together realize the Sustainable Development Goals so as to contribute to the important works of UNESCO, Deputy PM, FM Minh said./.
