VN attaches importance to ties with Cuba

VGP – Viet Nam attaches importance to the traditional friendship and cooperation with Cuba, affirmed Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh during his talks with Cuban FM Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla who is on an official visit to Viet Nam from September 9-12.

At the talks, both sides briefed each other about recent developments in their respective countries, discussing measures to beef up the bilateral ties and sharing views on regional and international issues of common concern.

Minister Parrilla spoke highly of Viet Nam’s all-around achievements as well as the two countries’ coordination at international organizations and multilateral forums like the United Nations and Non-aligned Movements.

He affirmed that Cuba treasures consistent support for his country over the past years.

Both sides agreed to continue effective realization of the high-level agreements and promote the effectiveness of the current cooperative mechanisms, especially the Viet Nam-Cuba Inter-governmental Committee for Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation.

The two countries also agreed to celebrate the 55^th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic ties in 2015, contributing to tightening the solidarity and traditional friendship between the two nations.

During his stay in Viet Nam, the top Cuban diplomat will also pay courtesy calls to Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong, PM Nguyen Tan Dung and NA Vice Chairman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan./.
