Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Wang Huning, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau and member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, Beijing, April 25, 2019

PM Phuc made the remark during his meeting with Wang Huning, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau and member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee in Beijing on April 25 on the sidelines of his working trip to China for the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF).

The Vietnamese leader expressed his pleasure at the positive development of ties between the two Parties and countries over the past few years, emphasizing that the regular maintenance of high-level visits and meetings has contributed significantly to accelerating their relations.

The Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) and the CPC have set up many effective and diverse cooperation mechanisms, which have enabled the two sides to effectively realise the common perceptions reached by their senior leaders, he said.

The PM stated that cooperation and exchanges between the National Assembly of Viet Nam and the National People’s Congress of China, as well as between the Viet Nam Fatherland Front and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and important ministries and sectors such as defence, public security, and foreign affairs, have been stepped up.

He went on to say that bilateral collaboration in the fields of economy, trade, investment and tourism has record practical developments and become a spotlight in the Viet Nam-China relations. In addition, people-to-people exchanges and cooperation between Vietnamese and Chinese localities, especially those along the shared borderline, have been unceasingly strengthened.

PM Phuc congratulated China on its significant achievements in Party building and anti-corruption efforts, expressing his wish to exchange experience with China in the field.

He said he believed that China will successfully implement the goals set at the 19th National Congress of the CPC in the cause of national construction and development.

For his part, Wang Huning warmly welcomed PM Phuc and the Vietnamese delegation to the second BRF, which, he said, reflects that the Vietnamese Party and State treasure China - Viet Nam relations, thus contributing to the success of the event.

He emphasized that the Chinese Party and State attach importance to relations with Viet Nam, agreeing to work with Viet Nam to maintain high-level meetings, strengthen political trust, and accelerate cooperation fields, including cooperation through the Party channel.

Wang Huning applauded the enhancement of bilateral trade and economic ties to new heights, thereby helping to develop the Viet Nam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in a stable, healthy and sustainable fashion.
