VN asks Chinese Taiwan respect VN’s sovereignty

VGP – Viet Nam has full historical and legal documents to affirm its indisputable sovereignty over Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagoes. Other nations' activities carried out at these two archipelagoes without Viet Nam’s approval are illegal and valueless.

March 24, 2016 5:18 PM GMT+7

FM Spokesman Le Hai Binh made that statement on March 24 in response to a reporter’s question about Viet Nam’s reaction to Taiwan taking a group of reporters to Ba Binh Island in Truong Sa archipelagoes on March 23.

Taiwan’s activity, regardless of Viet Nam and international community’s concerns and disapproval, seriously violates Viet Nam’s sovereignty, escalates tensions, and does not support  the maintenance of peace and stability in the East Sea and the two sides’ relations.

Viet Nam resolutely opposes the activity and asks Taiwan to respect Viet Nam’s sovereignty, prevent the repetition of any similar activities causing tensions and complicating the situations and make active contribution to the joint efforts in maintaining peace and stability in the East Sea.
