Phuc also asked the two countries to work together to control differences well so as not to let them affect the bilateral relations and firmly maintain a peaceful and stable environment in the region.

Viet Nam and China need to continue serious implementation of the common perceptions reached between the two Parties and countries’ senior leaders and the Viet Nam-China agreement on basic principles guiding the settlement of sea-related issues, Phuc said.

PM Phuc reiterated that Vietnam resolutely and persistently safeguards its sovereignty, territory, seas and islands in line with international law, expressing his belief that this issue will be solved properly.

The two PMs said both countries attach great importance to promoting the stable and sustainable development of the bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

They agreed on measures to advance the two countries’ relations in 2020 when both sides mark the 70th founding anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic relations.

Li expressed his belief that Viet Nam will successfully fulfill its ASEAN Chairmanship role in 2020 and  UNSC non-permanent membership for the tenure 2020-2021.

The Chinese Premier affirmed that his country attaches importance to and stands ready to foster cooperation in various fields with Viet Nam, particularly amidst the current global complex situation./.
