VN actively contributes to development of CLV

VGP – As a member of the Cambodia-Laos-Viet Nam (CLV) Development Triangle, Viet Nam has played an active role and pursued the spirit of fair cooperation in all areas over the past 17 years (1999-2018).

Viet Nam will host the 10th Cambodia-Laos-Viet Nam (CLV-10) Development Triangle Summit in Ha Noi from March 29-31.This is the third time the nation organizes the event. 

The nation has made crucial contributions to enhancing cooperation in CLV, especially expanding cooperation scale. 

According to Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen The Phuong, from the first phase, Viet Nam has actively joined hands with Cambodia and Laos in forming operation mechanisms and establishing oriented and strategic documents. 

The nation has coordinated with Laos and Cambodia in establishing CLV socio-economic development overall plan in 2004-2010 period and Revised Master Plan for Socio-Economic Development of the CLV in 2010-2020 phase, researching regional rubber development plan as well as completing Action plan on CLV economic connectivity up to 2030.   

The nation has actively set up mechanisms and policies in the triangle development, preferential policies in the region, promotion agreements and trade facilitation within the CLV and operated the website for the region. 

Vietnamese businesses have poured more than US$3.8 billion in 100 projects in Laos and Cambodia, focusing on agriculture, rubber planting and exploitation, finance and banking. 

The organization of the CLV-10 has manifested the active role and contribution of the nation to the region in particular and the development of the three nations in general.
