VN, U.S. enhance locality-to-locality exchanges

Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh made that statement at his reception for Utah Governor Gary Herbert on August 30 on the occasion of the Governor leading his State’s business delegation to work in Viet Nam from August 28-September 3.

At the meeting, the Deputy PM hoped for strengthening cooperation between all the U.S. States in general and Utah in particular and other localities in Viet Nam, contributing to promoting Viet Nam-U.S. Comprehensive Partnership.

He declared the Vietnamese Government’s determination to carry out comprehensive and synchronous renovation, focusing on fast and sustainable economic development, reforming the business environment, setting up a fair and transparent legal system and ensuring the benefits for investors.

The nation has actively accelerated intensive international integration, willing to tackle obstacles for foreign investors, he said, proposing businesses from Utah boost investment in Viet Nam in advantageous areas such as infrastructure, transport, science, water management, sustainable agriculture development, urban planning and climate change adaption.

Utah will continue promoting the friendship and cooperative relations with Viet Nam, making contribution to the two nations’ development, affirmed Mr. Gary Herbert.

During the visit to Viet Nam, Governor Gary Herbert held bilateral meetings with Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai, Chairmen of the People’s Committees of Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City and leaders from the Ministries of Industry and Trade and Science and Technology.
