PM Dung thanked the US for capacity-building and technical support to Viet Nam in realizing the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), affirming that Viet Nam is consistent in implementing seriously its commitments.

The Government leader recognized long steps in the deal’s negotiations thanks to openness, sincerity, constructiveness, good will and cooperation shared by both sides and expressed his belief that despite difficulties ahead, the two  would soon conclude negotiations.

PM Dung repeated the Vietnamese Government’s suggestion during his recent meeting with President Barack Obama that the US should consider Viet Nam’s development level and transitional process in negotiations in order to reach a balanced pact with flexible conditions which not only benefit TPPmembers but also stimulate the sustainable and long-term comprehensive partnership between Viet Nam and the US.

Froman spoke highly of Vietnamese negotiators’ constructiveness and professionalism in narrowing gaps between the two sides in numerous issues, saying that it was high time for both sides to conclude TPP negotiations.

He said that the US was consistent in approaching balanced interests, accepting exceptions and understanding Viet Nam’s transitional period for TPPenforcement.

He also affirmed the US’s readiness to provide capacity-building and technical assistance for Viet Nam in the pact’s implementation, saying that both sides should discuss thoroughly existed differences to ease the TPP enforcement in the future.

With the participation in the TPP and deep international integration, Viet Nam would become a strong nation economically with increasing role in the region and the world, Froman said.
