VN, Turkey head to two-way trade value of US$4 bln

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc asserted that trade is the prioritized pillar in Viet Nam-Turkey cooperation and the two countries head to raise the two-way trade value to US$4 billion by 2020 at the press conference that he and his Turkish counterpart co-chaired on August 23.

“The Turkish PM and I had a successful talks, achieving a number of measures and ways to upgrade the two nations’ relations more intensively and effectively”, said PM Phuc, adding that the two nations consented to strengthen delegation exchanges at all levels, encourage direct cooperation between localities and ministries as well as facilitate their businesses to expand investment and trade and promote people-to-people exchanges.

The two nations agreed to continue close cooperation and mutual support at international and regional forums.

They expressed their concerns over the increase in terror attacks, assenting to address the disputes in the East Sea with peaceful measures based on international law, including the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea 1982.

The two sides committed to facilitating their businesses to invest in goods and services of their advantages and exchanged ways to limit and treat with trade conflicts and anti-dumping cases.

The two leaders discussed cooperation in culture, education and training, tourism and transport as well as signed agreements on customs, quality standard, industrial park management and trade and investment facilitation.

The Vietnamese Government welcomes the Turkish business delegation attending the trade and investment cooperation forum, which will be held tomorrow in Ha Noi, said PM Phuc, asserting that the Turkish PM’s visit to Viet Nam opens a new chapter in the two nations’ relationship.

Mr. Binali Yildirim expressed his honor to become the first Turkish PM to visit Viet Nam, affirming his point of view on the East Sea issue that “Issues on the East Sea will be addressed through dialogues”.

Highlighting the success of the talks with PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc, he hailed the potential in the development between the two sides from tourism, education to defense industry, expecting to promote the relationship with Viet Nam in all fields.
