VN To Receive More Than 5.6 Million COVID-19 Vaccine Doses

VGP – Viet Nam will receive 5.657 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines by the end of April, according to the Ministry of Health.

Viet Nam receives 5.657 million COVID-19 vaccine doses by the end of April

The figure includes 4,177,000 million doses of COVAX-funded AstraZeneca vaccine and 1.48 million other doses ordered from AstraZeneca company.

Of the 1.48 million doses, 1,373,800 doses are expected to arrive on March 25 while the rest is slated to arrive in April. 

Viet Nam received the very first batch of 117,600 doses of Oxford/AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine on February 24.

The nation started administering the vaccine to frontline workers on March 8 at Ha Noi based-National Hospital for Tropical Diseases, Ho Chi Minh City-based Hospital for Tropical Diseases, Provincial Medical Center and Kim Thanh Medical Center in the northern province of Hai Duong - the biggest COVID-19 hotspot in Viet Nam. 

As of 6:05pm on Tuesday, Viet Nam confirmed 2,526 COVID-19 cases, including 2,004 recoveries and 35 deaths./.
