VN, Thailand seek measures to realize trade goal by 2020
VGP – Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh and his Thai counterpart Sontirat Sontijirawong co-chaired the 3rd meeting of the Viet Nam-Thailand Joint Trade Committee took place in Ha Noi on August 3.
The meeting reviewed bilateral economic and trade cooperation and discussed specific measures to realize the trade goal of US$20 billion by 2020 towards more balanced manner.
The two Ministers underlined the importance of the Joint Trade Committee though the two countries have established or joined a number of bilateral and multilateral cooperative mechanisms.
Anh asked the Thai side to facilitate Vietnamese farm exports and foodstuff to Thailand, especially fresh fruits and milk products.
The two-wayb trade increased to US$15.3 billion in 2017 from US$11.5 billion in 2015, posting an annual growth rate of 15.5%/
According to the Thai side, Viet Nam is the 2nd biggest trade partner of Thailand in ASEAN, after Malaysia./.
