Welcoming Thai Deputy PM, Minister of Defense Prawit Wongsuwon on January 14, PM Dung said he expected that his visit will promote the relationship more effectively.

Viet Nam respects the role of Thailand in the region and in the world, hoping to accelerate the Strategic Partnership with Thailand for the two countries' mutual development and  ASEAN's prosperity, asserted the PM.

Applauding the talks between Deputy PM Prawit Wongsuwon and Minister of National Defense Phung Quang Thanh, PM Dung affirmed that the Vietnamese Government advocates the cooperative activities between the two nations’ ministries such as cooperation in joint marine patrol and the establishment of a working group on dealing with issues related to fishing.

He proposed Thailand coordinate with Viet Nam and other nations in ASEAN to realize the bloc's goals and support each other at international and regional forums.

The PM suggested the two sides boost cooperation in terms of trade, investment and tourism, agricultural production and processing and transport.

The Vietnamese Government will create favorable conditions for Thai investors to launch long-term operation in Viet Nam, confirmed the PM, asking the two sides to negotiate and soon sign a Memorandum of Understanding on labor cooperation.

He hoped that Thailand will support the overseas Vietnamese living and working in Thailand.

Mr. Prawit Wongsuwon revealed that Thailand desires to enhance cooperation in fields of economics, trade and investment with Viet Nam, especially in agriculture and transport connection.

He agreed that Thailand and Viet Nam should support each other and establish a strong and prosperous ASEAN, contributing to the international and regional peace, stability, cooperation and development.
