VN, Thailand boost up cooperation in national defense

Minister Thanh asserted that the visit has contributed to strengthening the bilateral defense cooperation as well as consolidating the two nations’ traditional relations.

General Worapong Sanganetra announced the achievements of his talks with Chief of the General Staff of the Viet Nam People's Army and Deputy Minister of Defense Do Ba Ty.

At the talks, the two sides exchanged national defense and security situations and experience in armed services establishment and issues of mutual concerns.

They reviewed the two nations’ cooperation in defense over the past few years and proposed measures to promote cooperation in the field in the future, focusing on delegation exchanges, personnel training, and sea patrol.

The two officers consented to launch agreements effectively, making the cooperation in national defense on a par with the two countries’ Strategic Partnership relations.
