VN, Sweden agree to intensify agricultural cooperation

The MoU specifies fields of cooperation between managerial organs regarding seafood; irrigation and rural development; food safety and hygiene; animal health; management and research.

The document is an important advancement for a new mode of cooperation between Việt Nam and Sweden. The two countries are shifting their bilateral relations from the donor-recipient link to an equal partnership, said the Ambassador at the signing ceremony.

The programs funded by Sweden have operated well, contributing to Việt Nam’s socio-economic development in general, and agriculture and rural development in particular, the Vietnamese Minister said, adding that Sweden has in the last 15 years funded Việt Nam nearly US $100 million, mostly for forestry research programs.
