Vietnamese Minister of Public Security To Lam made the above remarks during his talks with his Singaporean counterpart K. Shanmugam in Ha Noi on Thursday.

The two ministries’ cooperation has contributed to consolidating and deepening the strategic partnership between the two countries, he added.

Lam went on to say that security cooperation is an important pillar of the bilateral ties, reflecting political trust of their high-level leaders.

He asked the Singaporean side to support Viet Nam to host the 39th ASEAN Chiefs of Police (ASEANPOL) Conference in 2019.

Lam suggested the two ministries strengthen information sharing in such fields like counter-terrorism, cyber security, and other non-traditional security matters.

He took the occasion to extend thanks to Singapore for its valuable assistance in finding and returning quarries to Viet Nam.

Shanmugam vowed to spare no efforts to advancing the two countries’ friendship in general and cooperation between the two ministries in particular.
