Deputy PM Dung made the point on January 25 in Ha Noi while hosting a reception for General Director of JSC Zarubezhneft.

JSC Zarubezhneft and the Viet Nam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) cooperated in Vietsovpetro, a joint enterprise for oil and gas exploration, and Rusvietpetro joint venture. These joint ventures operated effectively, making important contributions to cementing and deepening the strategic partnership between the two countries.

Addressing the reception, Deputy PM Dung praised the cooperation in oil and gas between Viet Nam and the Russian Federation over the past time.

Oil and gas cooperation has been one of the key pillars of the bilateral ties, and generated large income for the respective country's budget.

The Vietnamese Government always encourages and creates every condition for Vietnamese and Russian enterprises to strengthen cooperation, he said.

The host leader proposed JSC Zarubezhneft work with PVN to seek to cut costs and raise efficiency of the two joint ventures; renovate technologies; optimize effectiveness of existing oil mines and explore new ones.

In reply, General Director Sergei Ivanovich Kudryasov revealed that all cooperative projects have been implemented effectively and on schedule. In the coming time, they would continue to open and exploit new oil and gas mines.

The General Director took the occasion to seek further support from the Vietnamese Government to extricate remaining issues./.
