VN, RoK enhance trade exchange activities

VGP – A trade exchange meeting was organized in Seoul, the Republic of Korea (RoK) on October 24 to help Vietnamese agricultural products and household goods to get access to the RoK’s market.

October 25, 2017 4:57 PM GMT+7

Speaking at the event, Minister Counselor Tran Anh Vu from the Vietnamese Embassy in the RoK and Korean Importers Association (KOIMA) executive Vice Chairman Kim Hyun-myung highlighted the huge opportunities for the two sides’ business community.

Viet Nam-RoK trade turnover over the recent nine months of 2017 reached more than US$45 billion, a year-on-year increase of 52% and higher than the total trade value of US$43 billion recorded in 2016.

The meeting attracted the participation of more than 50 businesses under the charge of KOIMA.

Trade between Viet Nam and the RoK increased 87 times since 1992, from US$500 million to US$43.4 billion in 2016. Both sides are joining hands to raise two-way trade to US$70 billion by 2020.

In the future, more trade exchange activities will be realized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, especially in the RoK.
