Deputy PM Dung showed his pleasure to witness the fast and effective development of the bilateral ties, strengthened political confidence, and robust economic and trade cooperation.

The RoK became one of Viet Nam’s leading trade partners, ranked second in ODA provision and third in tourism in Viet Nam.

As of late 2017, the RoK had over 6,400 valid FDI projects in Viet Nam with a total registered capital of US$ 57.66 billion. In 2017, the RoK was the largest FDI provider in Viet Nam by pouring US$ 8.31 billion of newly-registered and additional FDI.

Deputy PM Dung hailed the cooperation between the National Agricultural Cooperation Federation (Nonghyup) and the Viet Nam Cooperative Alliance (VCA) in which the two sides conducted a series of activities on information sharing, experience in development as well as manpower development.

The host leader took the occasion to suggest the Nonghyup continue to support the VCA to train staff; raise competence; build new models of cooperatives; manage supermarket chains; promote agricultural finance; and share experience in agricultural insurance.

Mr. Dung also proposed the Nonghyup support and push Korean competent agencies to remove difficulties in quarantine regulations for Vietnamese agro-forestry-fishery exports to the RoK especially star apple fruits; open the door for pork and chicken in 2018, then dragon fruits, rambutan, longan, and litchi.

The Vietnamese Government, said Deputy PM Dung, would create favorable ways for Korean agricultural products to enter Viet Nam in line with the current regulations.

In return, Mr. Kim Byeong was unanimous with the proposals between the Nonghyup and VCA saying these would contribute to promoting effective cooperation between the two countries in agriculture.

According to the guest leader, the RoK stands ready to provide resources and experience for Viet Nam to develop  production and value chains for Vietnamese agricultural products and advertize modern technologies and machines.

Mr. Kim Byeong recommended the two countries take measures to expand agricultural consumption especially facilitate that of Korean products including pear, persimmon, and apple./.
