The Deputy PM on March 30 hosted a reception for Minister of Infrastructure and the Environment Melainie Schultz Van Haegen.

He proposed the Netherlands assist Viet Nam in seeking realistic and effective measures to address challenges in droughts and salt-water intrusion in Viet Nam.

The Deputy PM appraised the achievements in the meeting of the Viet Nam-Netherlands Intergovernmental Committee on Climate Change Adaptation and Water Management on March 30, affirming to direct ministries and agencies to closely follow cooperative contents of the Strategic Partnership Agreement on climate change adaptation and water management.

He hoped that the two nations will strengthen mutual trust and understanding through exchanges and discussions.

Minister Melainie Schultz Van Haegen said that the meeting creates an opportunity for the two nations in sharing and exchanging plans within the framework of the Strategic Partnership Agreement as well as promotes the cooperative relationship between the two sides.

She affirmed that the Dutch Government will help Viet Nam set up a long-term program in responding to climate change, especially in combating droughts and salt-water intrusion.
