The State President highlighted that Viet Nam was the ninth largest trade partner and the seventh largest investor of Myanmar, which is regarded as a crucial foundation to continue expanding and developing the bilateral relationship in the future.

Hailing the talks between the Speaker of Myanmar’s Parliament and House of Nationalities and Vietnamese National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, he affirmed advocating the two nations’ parliaments to strengthen cooperation.

Viet Nam and Myanmar have full potential for cooperation, he said, suggesting maintaining existing cooperative mechanisms, strengthening delegation exchanges at all levels, and enhancing locality-to-locality and people-to-people exchanges to increase mutual knowledge.

The Vietnamese businesses expect to develop the business and invest in Myanmar, said Mr. Quang, proposing Myanmar facilitate and advocate Vietnamese enterprises to invest in banking, aviation, telecommunications, tourism and agriculture there.

The host thanked Myanmar for supporting Viet Nam at international and regional forums, expressing his hope that in the future, the two sides would promote political consultations and support each other at international organizations such as ASEAN and the United Nations.

The Myanmar Speaker said he is impressed with Viet Nam’s socio-economic development achievements and realizes that Myanmar needs to learn from Viet Nam’s economic development experience.

He introduced activities of the Myanmar Parliament, especially in legislative areas.

He left Ha Noi on the day, wrapping up his official visit.
