VN, Laos enhance cooperation in banking, finance

VGP – A bilateral meeting between the State Bank of Viet Nam (SBV) and the Bank of the Lao PDR (BOL) was held on September 17 in Vientiane, Laos to exchange and share experiences on macro-economic management, especially in finance and banking.

Governor of the SBV Le Minh Hung and BOL Governor Sonexay Sithphaxay co-chaired the meeting. 

At the event, the two sides reviewed cooperative achievements in finance and monetary sectors as well as discussed measures to enhance cooperation in the upcoming time and macro-economic, monetary policies and management of commercial banks and other related issues.   

The SBV will continue coordinating and sharing experience with the BOL in areas relevant to banking, said Le Minh Hung. 

They also agreed to promote cooperation in professional areas, information and technology and committed to facilitating the two sides’ commercial banks to establish cooperation and exchange to encourage the development of the banking system, serving for their investors to launch more activities related to investment and trade.
