VN, Laos closer join hands in repatriating volunteers’ remains

VNGOP – Standing Deputy PM Nguyễn Sinh Hùng delivered a reception to Lieutenant-General Chansamon Channhalat, Director of the Lao National Defense Institute and Head of the Lao Government’s Special Working Commission, on September 11 in Hà Nội.

Lieutenant General Chansamon Channhalat briefed to Deputy PM Nguyễn Sinh Hùng the results of the working session between the two governments’ special working commissions.

The two sides highly appreciated the search and repatriation of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who had sacrificed their lives in Laos. They also mentioned solutions to continue joining hands in fulfilling the tasks in the coming time.

The Lao guest confirmed that the Laos Special Working Commission will do its utmost to fulfill this noble duty.

Standing Deputy PM Hùng asserted that this work not only reflects a high sense of responsibility to the country and people but is also an expression of profound sentiments to our fellow compatriots who have devoted their lives to the country’s independence and freedom.

The Deputy PM affirmed that the Vietnamese Government will facilitate the search and repatriation of the remains of Vietnamese soldiers and experts from Laos.
