Dung spoke highly of the contributions of Onoi Yoshiki and members of the FEC in promoting the cooperative and friendship ties between the two nations, including the organization of delegation exchanges to seek for cooperation and investment opportunities in Viet Nam.

Japan is currently the top economic partner of Viet Nam, ranking first in providing Official Development Assistance (ODA) worth US$27 billion and ranking fourth among Viet Nam’s largest trade partners with the bilateral trade value of US$38 billion.

Japan has been the second largest investor in Viet Nam, pouring nearly US$60 billion in 4,300 projects.

In the upcoming time, Viet Nam wants Japanese investors to continue expanding investment and cooperation with Vietnamese partners in prioritized sectors such as agricultural machines, agricultural and aquatic processing, electronics, ship building, automobile and tools, environmental industry, energy saving and other areas of infrastructures, energy, auxiliary industry and high technology.

For his side, Onoi Yoshiki asserted to continue making efforts for the development of Viet Nam through enhancing people-to-people diplomacy between the two sides.

In the upcoming time, the FEC will organize more Japanese business delegations to seek for investment opportunities in Viet Nam, supporting Vietnamese investors to invest in Japan and launching people-to-people diplomacy activities to strengthen ties and connectivity.
