Deputy PM Trinh Dinh Dung greets Japanese Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Keiichi Ishii, Ha Noi, December 25, 2018

The Deputy PM made the statement while hosting a reception for Japanese Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Keiichi Ishii in Ha Noi on December 25, during which he also asked the Japanese side to share experience in infrastructure management and investment.

The Viet Nam-Japan extensive strategic partnership has been growing rapidly, comprehensively and substantively in various fields, including politics, security and defence, economy, culture and people-to-people exchange, Dung said.

He highly appreciated Japan’s close collaboration and support for Viet Nam in the area of transportation, such as railway, navigation and aviation, while thanking the Japanese Government and people for constantly supporting the Vietnamese people in coping with and overcoming the consequences of disasters.

The Deputy PM asked Japan to continue encouraging its enterprises to invest in Viet Nam, a market of 100 million people and a trade gateway to the region and the world.

For his part, the Japanese minister congratulated Viet Nam on its socio-economic achievements, particularly in the areas of infrastructure development, tourism, environmental protection, adaptation to natural disasters, and mitigation of disaster consequences.

In the time ahead, Japan is interested and wishes to participate in developing important transport infrastructure projects capable of creating growth engines, such as the Long Thanh International Airport, high-speed rail lines, the North-South Expressway, inter-regional highways, and metro lines in Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City and some big municipalities, Keiichi Ishii said.
