VN, Ireland share economic development experience

VGP – Việt Nam wants to learn Ireland’s experience of economic development, particularly in attracting foreign investment, developing banking system, and training a highly-qualified labor force.

Vietnamese Deputy PM Hoàng Trung Hải, in the last working day of his official visit to the Republic of Ireland, had a meeting on Friday with Irish Minister of State for Children Barry Andrews.

Mr. Hải highly spoke of the cooperation between Việt Nam and Ireland in education, youth activities, family issues, and enforcing the Agreement on Child Adoption inked in 2003.

He asked Minister Barry Andrews to work with Vietnamese partners on a new agreement on the same field which is in line with the La Hay Convention.

On the day, the Vietnamese delegation joined a round-table with senior experts from the Irish Central Bank on economic and financial issues, focusing on measures to respond to the global economic downturn.

The host financiers presented their experience and solutions for stimulating investment and coping with the crisis.

They showed their admiration to impressive results of solutions adopted by the Government of Việt Nam, saying that they are ready to enhance financial and banking cooperation.
