VN, China wraps up 20th Chair-level meeting on land demarcation and marker planting

VNGOP – The Chairs of the Vietnam-China Joint Committee on Land Demarcation and Marker Planting convened the 20th meeting in Beijing, China, on May 13-20, 2007.

The two sides agreed some specific solutions to fulfill the agreements gained at the 13th governmental-level meeting on territorial borders and the 19th Chair-level meeting of the Vietnam-China Joint Committee, in order to speed up the demarcation and marker planting work in 2007 in the fields for a stable common borderline between Vietnam and China, so that the whole work can be finished by 2008 and a new statutes on border management can be signed as agreed by the senior leaders of the two countries.

On May 17, Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Wu Dawei witnessed the signing ceremony of the meeting minutes.

The two sides also agreed to hold the 21st Chair-level meeting of the Vietnam-China Joint Committee in July 2007.
