VN, China to finish land border demarcation by the year end
VNGOP – The 23rd Chairperson-level meeting of the Việt Nam-China Joint Committee for Land Border Demarcation and Landmark Planting was convened in Hà Nội from January 14-21, 2008.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the work in 2007 and assessed the completion of the demarcation and landmark planting at border sections in the two northern mountainous provinces of Lào Cai and Hà Giang.
The two sides frankly discussed all issues and adopted specific measures to accelerate the border demarcation and landmark planting. They confirmed their determination to finish the work and sign related protocol by late 2008 as agreed by senior leaders of the two countries.
The 24th meeting was agreed to be held in Beijing next month.
