He stressed the bilateral relations are on development course with positive outcomes of cooperation in various fields.

China is the biggest trade partner of Viet Nam while Viet Nam has become a major trade partner of China in ASEAN.

As of March 2017, China had more than 1,600 projects with total registered capital of over US$11 billion, ranking eight out of 116 countries and territories in Viet Nam.

Quang said Viet Nam and China share many fundamental similarities as both countries are consistently pursuing the socialist paths and at important stages of innovation and reform.

The two countries also share mutual benefits from maintaining peaceful and stable environment for national development.

Amid fast and complicated changes in the regional and international situation, further consolidation and enhancement of the Viet Nam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership suit the fundamental and long-term interests of the two countries and two peoples and are conducive to the maintenance of peace and stability in the region and the world, said the Vietnamese State President.

Quang said he will discuss with Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping and other senior leaders of China on orientations and measures to continue strengthening trust, fostering the settlement of issues of common concerns, consolidating the traditional friendship, and deepening the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries to effectively contribute to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

During the visit, State President Quang will also attend the “Belt and Road” Summit – a platform for leaders and representatives of international organizations to seek measures to enhance cooperation and accelerate international integration for peace, stability, security, prosperity and sustainable development.

Viet Nam supports initiatives and efforts on economic linkages and connectivity for the common benefits of countries and hopes the Summit would open up opportunities for cooperation and connectivity for the relevant countries and the region, especially in economic and inter-continent infrastructure, trade and investment, and people-to-people exchanges areas./.
