VN, China forge tourism cooperation

VGP - National tourism agencies of Việt Nam and China will sign an agreement on tourism promotion between the two countries in the near future, stated an official of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MoCST).

Hà Nội is an ideal destination for Chinese visitors

Mr. Vũ Thế Bình, Director of the Travel Department under the MoCST’s Việt Nam National Tourism Administration, said that during the working session with the China National Tourism Administration in late August, the two sides agreed to jointly conduct projects on tourism promotion, organizing events, and developing human resource.

The two sides also discussed specific cooperation plans, including Việt Nam’s participation in Expo 2010 in Shanghai and CITM tourism fair late this year in Kunming, In response, China’s tourist agencies will present themselves at the 1000th anniversary of Thăng Long- Hà Nội.

Both sides agreed to facilitate land and sea tourism, and further tap tourism potentials at Bản Giốc Waterfall in the northern province of Cao Bằng.

Mr. Bình said Việt Nam and Trung Quốc had agreed to consider 2010 as the key year for tourism development of the two countries.
