VN, Cambodia fulfill nearly 90% of land border delimitation

PM Nguyen Tan Dung made the statement while attending the inauguration of the border marker No. 30 and the road connecting two checkpoints of the Le Thanh (Gia Lai province) - O Yadav (Cambodia’s Rattanakiri province) international bordergate on Saturday morning.

This is the 3rd time PM Dung and his Cambodian counterpart Hun Sen attended the inauguration ceremonies of border markers, showing the determination and efforts of the two Governments in realizing treaties and agreements on border delimitation. 

PM Dung said nearly 90% of border demarcation and landmark planting between the two countries has been completed, which will facilitate border management, exchanges, cooperation and mutual support in all fields, especially economy, trade, investment and tourism between Gia Lao and Cambodia’s province of Ratanakiri as well as between the two countries.

He hailed the efforts of the Viet Nam-Cambodia Joint Committee on Land Border Demarcation and Marker Planting, relevant ministries and agencies in fruitfully realizing tasks on land border demarcation and maker planting over the past years.

Meanwhile, Cambodian PM Hun Sen affirmed that the two nations have devoted efforts to launching synchronous measures to address border issues with stable progress.

On behalf of the Cambodian Government, PM Hun Sen said the two countries have overcome numerous difficulties in building the joint border line.

Cambodia consistently maintains its position to build specific and clear border line between the two nations on the basis of domestic and international laws, he said, adding that the Cambodian Government will spare no effort to work with the Vietnamese side to well manage the border line.
