Mr. Eduardo Sampaio Marques, Brazilian Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply addresses the conference with Vietnamese enterprises, Hồ Chí Minh City, September 30, 2009

It is hoped that the governments of the two countries will exchange business delegations to facilitate the bilateral cooperation, Mr. Eduardo Sampaio Marques, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply, said at the conference.

The conference helped enterprises from Brazil and Việt Nam seek investment and trade opportunities, especially for agricultural products and foodstuffs such as meat and cheese.

Ruy Barreto Filho, Chairman of the Việt Nam-Brazil Chamber of Commerce, said Brazil will provide Vietnamese firms with a land area of 1,000-2,000 m2 free of charge for them to exhibit their products in Rio de Janeiro for 2 years.

Brazil is the world’s leading exporter of sugar, coffee, canned fruit juice and beef. Currently, Việt Nam is importing from this South American country wheat flour, dried soy-bean, timber and leather.

Nguyễn Thế Hưng, Vice Director of the VCCI’s southern branch, said Việt Nam will accelerate export of rice, garments, footwear, rubber, handicrafts and electronic goods to Brazil in the future.
