VN, Belgium solidify legislative ties

VNGOVNet – National Assembly Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng received Mr. Jose Happart, Chairman of the Parliament of the Wallonie Region, Kingdom of Belgium, in the afternoon of February 26.

The two sides agreed to develop the bilateral relationship between the legislative bodies and peoples of Vietnam and Wallonie Region to new height in the time to come.

NA Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng informed the guest about Vietnam’s socio-economic development as well as the Vietnamese National Assembly’s renewed performance in the cause of national industrialization and modernization. He attributed the country’s success to national unity and people’s mastership which is brought into full play in all fields. The host highly appreciated the cooperation between Vietnam and Belgium in general and the Wallonie Region in particular, hoping that the bilateral ties will be further developed to a new level.

Chairman of the Parliament of the Wallonie Region Jose Happart informed the host the outcomes of his working session with the Vietnamese NA Committees for External Affairs and for Economic and Budgetary Affairs. He showed his satisfaction of the results of his visit to Vietnam. The guest said "Vietnam has many potentialities, especially dynamic and creative young people. Under the sound leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, this is a valuable property for the country to develop in the coming time." He also affirmed that the Wallonie Region and Belgium will continue to give best conditions to strengthen their multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam.
