The deputy PM made the remarks at a reception for Belarusian Ambassador to Viet Nam Vladimir Goshin in Ha Noi on March 28.

He expressed his pleasure to see the growing politic and diplomatic relations between the two countries over the past years, which was manifested through the regular exchange of high-level delegations.

In order to realize the agreements reached by senior leaders of both sides and facilitate the bilateral traditional and friendly ties in a substantive fashion, Deputy PM Dung stressed the need for Viet Nam and Belarus to accelerate cooperation in all fields, particularly economics, trade and investment.

He urged the Belarusian side to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese businesses to soon export rice to Belarus in accordance with the regulations stipulated in the Viet Nam-Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement.

For his part, Ambassador Vladimir Goshin affirmed that Belarus attached special meaning to its relations with Viet Nam, identifying Viet Nam as an important gateway for Belarus to access the potential ASEAN market.

The two countries are working on final preparations in order to soon implement the protocol between the two governments on supporting the manufacturing of motor vehicles in Viet Nam, he noted.

According to the protocol, Belarus’s automobile manufacturer MAZ will join Vietnamese partners to establish a venture to manufacture and assemble trucks and 10 seat or more cars in Viet Nam. The cars manufactured by the venture will have to match with directions set out in the Viet Nam automobile industry development plan until 2020, with a vision to 2030.
