Deputy PM Hoàng Trung Hải visited the Minsk factory (MAZ) producing lorries, buses and mechanic products.

Recently, MAZ shaked hands with the Việt Nam Engine and Agricultural Machinery Corporation (VEAM) to assemble 200 lorries in Việt Nam and design other products for ASEAN markets.

Deputy PM Hải said that MAZ and VEAM could raise the output of their joint-venture to 1,000 trucks by 2010.

According to managers of MAZ, one of the company’s priorities in the future is to expand its overseas activities, especially in such markets with great agricultural potentials as Việt Nam.

Accompanying Deputy PM Hải in the tour to Belarus, leaders of some ministries and agencies had meetings with representatives of Belarusian enterprises doing investment in Việt Nam.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyễn Nam Hải paid a visit to Belaz, one of top three world brand-names of lorry and instrumental machines. Belaz is planning to work with Vietnamese partners in founding some maintenance workshops and factories to produce spare parts.

Deputy Governor Nguyễn Đồng Tiến of the State Bank of Việt Nam met his Belarusian counterpart in order to discuss financial cooperation programs.

On the occasion, Việt Nam’s Hapaco Company launched a paper making project in Belarus.
