VN Airlines opens European office in France

VGP - Vietnam Airlines on January 26 inaugurated a European office in Paris which will manage, supervise and help its branches, representative offices, and agents in Europe, excluding Russia.

The air route linking Việt Nam and France are the most important among the carrier’s routes to Europe.

Thus, the establishment of the new regional office will accelerate the launch of more flights to Paris and Frankfurt, Germany, in 2010.

It will also create favorable conditions for Vietnam Airlines to expand operation in Europe in the coming time after the national flag carrier joins the global airline alliance Skyteam (mid-June 2010).

By joining the alliance, Vietnam Airlines expects to access over 1,000 destinations worldwide.

In 2009, revenues from Europe (excluding Russia) accounted for nearly 20% the total revenue of Vietnam Airlines.

The carrier plans to enlarge its fleet to 150-160 aircraft by 2015-2020 and rank the 3rd in the region by 2015–2017.
