At the meeting, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, NCCFC Chairman Cao Đức Phát urged the local authorities to further tighten their supervision and control of incubators and poultry flocks, especially water fowls after March 1, 2007 when the Government re-grants permission for incubation. Also according to him, the danger of a widespread influenza in the Red River Delta provinces is very high at the moment.

As planned, the Veterinary Bureau will receive 125 million doses of vaccine within this March, of which, the first 20 million doses will arrive in Vietnam on March 10. Minister Cao Đức Phát ordered the quick supplemental inoculation against the epidemic after the last one in October 2006 for the egg-breeding flocks in the North and for many other newly-hatched flocks which have not been vaccinated.
