US to open door for Vietnamese longan next month
VGP – Viet Nam is expected to ship the first batch of longan to the US market in November, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Earlier, the US granted an area code for two Vietnamese longan growing areas.
Representatives of a Vietnamese longan exporter on October 7 flew to the US to discuss packing designs with American importers.
Experts considered the export permission to the picky market as a “passport” which guarantees the quality and value of Vietnamese fruit for entering other markets.
Vietnamese exporters shipped 100 tons of dragon fruits to the US in 2008 and 1,200 tons in 2013./.
