UNDP helps VN design development strategies

VGP – The Development Strategy Institute (DSI) of the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) signed a two-year-and-a-half US $2 million project on setting up Việt Nam’s socio-economic development strategy (SEDS) for 2011-2020.

The project aims at facilitating the building of macro-economic development strategies, laying the foundation for Việt Nam’s socio-economic policies in the next two decades.

According to UNDP representative Christopher Bahuet, the project will help Việt Nam design a SEDS in order to maintain its growth rate and social coherence, provide people with pubic services, come to environmentally-friendly sustainable development, and effectively cope with challenges caused by climate change.

Apart from financial support, UNDP is willing to back DSI through training human resource, and sharing experience and international information for the country’s SEDS in 2011-2020.
