Two more coronavirus cases reported in VN, total reaches 262

VGP – Two more COVID-19 infection cases were confirmed early this morning, bringing the total in Viet Nam to 262.

The latest cases are residents of Ha Loi village which has emerged as a new COVID-19 cluster in Ha Noi. 

Patient 261 is a 60-year-old female grocer at Ha market in the village. Her sample was collected on April 11 and showed positive on April 12. 

The woman is being treated at the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi's Dong Anh District. 

Patient 262 is a 26-year-old man and worked for Sam Sung Bac Ninh Factory. 

On March 27, the patient had been in close contact with his uncle who had been confirmed positive (Patient 254).

On March 31, he showed coronavirus symptoms such as cough and fever. He was admitted to the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi's Dong Anh District for treatment.

Of the total 262 positive cases confirmed in Viet Nam so far, 159 are imported cases, accounting for 60.7%.

As many as 75,291 people have been quarantined in Viet Nam, including 713 in hospitals, 15,564 at centralized camps, and the rest of 59,014 at their places of residence. 

The Health Ministry also reported that the current 118 active cases are being treated at 14 medical facilities across the nation, of whom 22 cases tested negative for the first time and 16 others tested negative for the second time. 

Out of 262 confirmed cases, 144 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals./.
