Two female scientists presented Kovalevskaya Award

VGP – The Kovalevskaya Award were presented on Saturday to two female scientists for their great contributions to science and national development.

The two recipients are Associate Prof. Dr. Vũ Thị Thu Hà and Associate Prof. Dr. Lê Thị Thanh Nhàn.

Asso. Prof. Dr. Vũ Thị Thu Hà, is the vice director of the Việt Nam Institute of Industrial Chemical (VIIC) and director of the key laboratory for petrochemical refinery technology.

Over the past 19 years of working at the VIIC, Ms. Hà has developed a lot of environmentally-friendly products and technologies for sustainable development, contributing to the development of the catalysis and petrochemical refinery industry. In addition, her research results and articles have appeared on many domestic and foreign magazines

The other awardee, Asso. Prof. Dr. Lê Thị Thanh Nhàn, is the Vice headmaster of the Science College under Thái Nguyên University. She was Việt Nam’s youngest mathematician bestowed with the Associate Professor title in 2005.

She has got involved in 16 research projects. From 2004-2009, Ms. Nhàn made public nine articles on the Institute of Scientific Information (ISI). She has been elected to the National Foundation for Science and Technology Development (Nafosted) in the 2009-2013 term.

Since 1985, the Vietnamese Kovalevskaya Award Committee has presented the award to 38 individuals and 15 organizations for their excellent contributions to chemistry, biology, agriculture and others.
