Trade surplus hits US$6.8 bln in 11 months
VGP – Viet Nam enjoyed the trade surplus of US$6.8 billion over the recent 11 months of 2018, according to the General Statistics Office.
The nation gained US$21.6 billion from exporting in November, raising the total export value in 11 months to US$223.63 billion, a year-on-year increase of 14.4%. The State and foreign-invested sector contributed US$63.24 billion and US$160.39 billion to the nation’s total export turnover, up 17.2% and 13.4%, respectively.
The export value of Viet Nam’s key export items witnessed high growths over the recent 11 months of 2018, including phones and accessories (up 11.5%), garments (up 17.4%) and electronics, computers and spare parts (up 13.9%). |
The U.S., EU and China maintained the largest exporters of Viet Nam in 11 months of 2018. |
Viet Nam’s import value over the recent 11 months of 2018 saw a year-on-year increase of 12.4%, reaching US$216.82 billion. |
China and the Republic of Korea were the largest importers of Viet Nam in 11 months of 2018. |
