Leader of the Government on Thursday morning gave nods to proposals of the State Steering Committee for planning and building Hà Nội and the international consultant while considering the third report on the overall planning scheme for Hà Nội to 2030 and with visions to 2050.

Presiding over the meeting, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng stated that, in order to build up Hà Nội as a green, civilized and modern city, the plan-makers should perfect all component plans which directly highlight the capital city’s characters.

The Government chief placed focus on planning transport network, irrigation, land use, preservation of cultural institutions, development of green areas, population allocation, and the network of industrial parks and craft villages.

The development of satellite cities will be thoroughly discussed in order to help release the population and infrastructure burdens for Hà Nội’s central area.

The third report of the overall planning scheme for Hà Nội presents detailed researches on current challenges facing Hà Nội after its border expansion.

The transport planning will focus on criteria for sustainable development, such as popularizing public means of transport, controlling private vehicles, monitoring traffic in core urban areas, and developing centripetal axes and belt roads.

The planning scheme also mentioned ways to mobilize social resources for the construction of the capital city.
