According to travel agencies, the number of customers booking tours to popular destinations in the central and southern regions increased by 20-25% against the same period last year thanks to numerous promotions.

Giant companies like Saigontourist, Viettravel, Fiditour and Hanoi Red Tours offer large discounts for both domestic and foreign tours, along with maximum service quality.

Deputy General Director of Ha noi Red Tours Nguyen Cong Hoan revealed that this year, his company will offer the biggest ever discount at up to 30%, especially for tours to Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc and Quy NNon designed for customers in the northern region. The promotion will run through 2013.

Meanwhile, the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association (HTA) said that it has joined hands with the national flag carrier Viet Nam Airlines to offer a 60 percent discount on flights from HCM City to Ha Noi , Hai Phong, Nha Trang and Phu Quoc.

As a result, tourism enterprises involved in the program to stimulate tourism demand are able to cut their price as high as 30 percent.

Deputy Chairman of the Viet Nam Tourism Association Vu The Binh considered the stimulus, which targets local holidaymakers, as a right move in the context of economic difficulties and decreasing number of international visitors. It also contributes to promoting the tourism sector’s prestige among domestic customers, he added.

The 2013 tourism program was launched by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, along with the Tourism General Department.-VNA
