In the first 11 months, over 11.64 million foreign arrivals were reported. In December only, foreign visitors were estimated at 1.25 million, marking the ninth month in which Viet Nam greeted over 1 million foreigners a month.

In 2017, the number of guests travelling by air hit 10.9 million, representing a year-on-year growth of 32.1%; by roads by 1.8 million (up 19.5%); and by sea (down 9.1%).

The number of Asian tourists surged sharply by 34.4% against the same period last year. Especially, the number of Chinese guests increased by 48.6%.

Viet Nam served 73 million domestic guests. It earned VND 510 trillion in revenues.

With 12.9 million international visitors, the tourism sector has fundamentally fulfilled the preset goal of welcoming  13 million foreign guests in 2017.

In 2016 and 2017, the number of international guests went up 60% against 2015./.
