Tourism development plan for South Central Coast

The remains of a series of impressive tower-temples make My Son Sanctuary an attracting tourist site for both local and foreign tourists

PM Nguyen Tan Dung has issued the Decision No. 2350/QQĐ-TTg approving the overall tourism development plan for the South Central Coast region through 2020, with vision to 2030, which aims to fully tap the potentials and advantages of the region.

The plan sets the targets to attract 25 million visitors, including 7.5 million foreigners, gain the revenue of VND160,000 billion and create 700,000 jobs.

It figures out major orientations to achieve the above targets, which include increasing investment for tourism and tourism product development.

For international arrivals, the plan states the priority of luring tourists from Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe.

Under the plan, Da Nang and Nha Trang cities will be the sub-region tourism centers while other two cities of Quy Nhon of Binh Dinh province and Phan Thiet of Binh Thuan province play the supporting role.

The South Central Coast groups Da Nang City and seven provinces of Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, and Binh Thuan.

The region boats for beautiful beaches and landscapes, including UNESCO-recognized heritages of Hoi An and My Son Sanctuary./.
