Tourism development plan by 2020 approved
VGP – The PM on January 22 issued Decision 201/QD-TTg to ratify an overall master scheme on tourism development by 2020 with a vision towards 2030.
Under the decision, by 2020, tourism will become a spearhead economic sector with synchronous and modern material and technical facilities; high-quality and diversified tourism products, which are able to compete with those provided by regional and international peers.
The master scheme targets to develop seven tourism regions, 46 national tourism areas, 41 national tourism sites, 12 tourism centers and other tourism areas, which will generate a growth momentum for the industry.
The industry will develop tourist markets, expand both domestic and international tourism markets; focus on “pure” tourism, convalescence and long-time tourism; develop tourism products; organize tourism space; and beef up tourism activities.
To fulfill the goals, there are fresh preferential policies and mechanisms on investment capital mobilization, promotional programs, scientific and technological applications, environmental protection and climate change response./.
